The Body Shop Body Mist
On Memorial Day weekend I stopped in at Ulta to check out the sales. In addition to finding a limited edition lip gloss I had been to at least ten different stores to acquire (review on that to come), I saw that The Body Shop's body mist was marked down from $12 to $6. I have heard some great reviews on the satsuma scented body mist and I was eager to try it out. For those of you, like myself, who have no idea what a satsuma is or what one smells like, it is apparently a tangerine. I saw that there was only one bottle left of the satsuma scented body spray left, so I grabbed it before anyone else could. I sprayed it while I was in Ulta and it smelled super fresh and refreshing. I also sprayed the mango scented one and I actually liked it more, despite the satsuma scent being so popular. I figured that at the original half price, I might as well get them both and see what all the hype is about.
To be honest, I love these scents. They don't have that sickening sweet smell that sometimes comes with fruity scented mists. I do have a couple of complaints. Firstly, the packaging in glass. This is a scent that I would want to carry with me in my handbag during the summer. I can already imagine me tossing my handbag into the passenger seat of my car without thinking and shattering the entire bottle. Another problem that I have with these mists is that the scent lasts only for about five minutes. There is seriously no staying power, which is another reason I would want to keep it in my handbag. You never know when you will have a moment that you will want to freshen up, especially in the summer time.
Sorry, Body Shop. I really like the scents you offer (except for that terrible shea scented one that smells like an old lady's closet) but between the glass packing and scent's half life being about 30 seconds, I don't know if I can continue our relationship.
Bottom line: Would I buy again? Probably not, unless it was majorly on sale again at Ulta. If you don't mind the price tag or the serious lack in the longevity of the scent, this product might be for you. I have to admit that I do like spraying the mango one on myself after I shower, but it's not something I will rely on to be my main spray for the day.
