Weigh In Wednesday: Literally! Starting My Summer Slim Down

Hey dudes,
I have something awesome I plan on trying to do each week, possibly more if I have time. I have recently taken on an extra job at work, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up with my daily postings, but I am going to try and do posts three days a week until I acclimate to my new job duties.

I have been wanting to start what I call my "Summer Slim Down" for the past couple of weeks, but things keep coming up that delays it. The most recent occurrence has been a bout of PMS that left me covered in cheesecake morsels and regret. I gained some weight over the last few weeks as well. nothing too major, about six pounds, but even as small as that seems, every pound gained is a pound closer to a spot I do not want to be in. Here we go!

Last Monday, I stepped on the scale to see that giving in to my cravings over the last week had caught up with me! Ugh, so annoying being a girl and being hormonal. Of course, I took my own advice and cut out my carbs. I swanee (Yes, my Southern roots are showing), the Dukan Diet works for me like a dream. I wrote down some of what I ate to show you how I helped get a few of these extra pounds off.

Monday
Monday's are always hard to diet on, mostly because I feel like I am constantly in a rush, rush  (not to be confused with my favorite Paula Abdul song). For breakfast I had a Fiber One Cinnamon Coffee cake. I  eat these because they have the same carb count as the OatFit oatmeal I like to eat for breakfast, but I can eat them when I don't have time to cook. They only have 90 calories as well.

For lunch, I had a chef salad from a local place, with no cheese and I did my trick of dipping my fork in the dressing. This salad had a ton of protein in it from various meats and eggs, so I didn't feel bad about it.

For dinner, I didn't feel like cooking plus it was super hot outside, so I cut up a little bit of a watermelon and threw a few raspberries in a bowl and called it dinner.

Wednesday
As you see, I have already lost a few pounds after cutting down my carb intake and judging by the look in his eye, my cat is pleased with my progress. I forgot to weigh myself and forgot to write down what I ate on Tuesday to be honest, and I only wrote down what I had for breakfast on Wednesday. Oops. I am so good at counting carbs that I no longer have to log it into my app, so being out of the habit of tracking my intake is foiling my attempts to share with you what I eat. If you're just starting out with dieting, I highly recommend getting an app to count everything for you. I'm doing this from memory, but I may be wrong.

For breakfast, I had my oatmeal with my scoop of protein powder in it. For lunch, I think I had a salad, but I was still hungry after I ate it, so I went to McDonald's on my lunch break (Dun, dun, DUN) and got a snack wrap. Chill out, peeps. I took most of the tortilla off of it so it wasn't that bad on carbs. I would rather run and get something to hold me over until dinner time rather than starve and have a breakdown and eat an entire jelly roll with my bare hands. For dinner, I ate those mozzarella meatball things I posted last week. Click HERE for the recipe.

Friday

I forgot to track everything on Thursday again because it was a very stressful day at work, but by Friday I was back down in the 130's! For breakfast, I had another Fiber One Coffee Cake. For lunch, we had lunch at the office. I ate a cheeseburger (I took the bun off) and this seafood boil we had. There wasn't many calories in it because it was like shrimp and sausage and little ears of corn. I did eat one little ear of corn because I couldn't resist. It was so yummy! For dinner, my fiance and I went out to dinner with a few of our friends and I ate a grilled chicken salad while we were out. I'll try to do better this week with tracking what I eat and everything for you all. Half the time I am the hot mess express and I am lucky to put pants on before I leave the house in the morning, but I'll try my best to keep this up!

I hope this post was helpful for my readers out there who are trying to get slim for summer. I am planning a beach trip at the beginning of August and I want to look banging while I'm there, so I would like to get drop a few pounds. I'm also planning on finally picking a wedding dress within the next few months too, so that is something to stay fit for as well! Let me know if you all have any questions at all! I'm always here for you. Follow me on twitter @butterybiscuit7 and on Instagram @bridgetb2011.

Talk to you soon!
